Repaints
The Repaints category is split into two sub-categories; COMMERCIAL and HOUSING/ADDITIONS, each has two further sub-categories to cover all project pricing scales.
COMMERCIAL Repaints is classed as any commercial repaint projects (including shops, hospitals, commercial use buildings and offices) with a specific painting contract value where repaint contracts must comprise of a minimum of 75% repaint work. There are two sub-categories:
Commercial Paint Value up to $100,000
Commercial Paint Value over $100,000
Entrants must demonstrate a high quality of work throughout the project.
Paint work should be:
Blemish free
No brush and roller marks, sags and runs
Adjoining surfaces must be clean
Judges will note and witness:
Demonstration of WH&S processes
Management of Sustainability
Degree of difficulty in application
Accessing hard to get to areas
Protection – What system was put in place to control overspray or paint spills
How was the live environment managed?
Have Inspection test plans been used?
Consideration will be given to:
Time constraints
Clients requirements
Overall aesthetic of the project
Scores based upon the following:
Surface Preparation
Application
Degree of difficulty
HOUSING / ADDITIONS Repaints is classed as residential repaint projects for individual dwellings where repaint contracts must comprise of a minimum of 75% repaint work. There are two sub-categories available:
Housing Paint Value up to $20,000
Housing Paint Value over $20,000
Entrants must demonstrate a consistent high quality of work throughout the project.
Paint work should be:
Blemish free
No brush and roller marks, sags and runs
Adjoining surfaces should be clean
Judges will note:
Degree of difficulty in application
Accessing hard to get to areas
Cleanliness
Consideration will be given to:
Time constraints
Clients requirements
Overall aesthetic of the project
