The two major awards are:
Master Painter & Decorator of the Year – Small to Medium Business (up to 8 employees)
Master Painter & Decorator of the Year – Large Business (over 8 employees)

Coatings
The Coatings category is open to the application of industrial and/or protective coating to any object, building or machinery new or repainted and roll on, trowel on and spray applied texture coatings.
Decorative Finishes
The Decorative Finishes category has three sub-categories; Faux Finishes, Paint Effects and Wall-coverings.
Historical Restorations
The category Historical Restoration is open to painting restoration work to any type of building, including commercial and residential.
New Construction
New Construction is classed as projects of either new commercial construction or new housing/additions with a specific painting contract value.
Repaints
Repaints is classed as commercial or housing repaint projects with a specific painting contract value.
Woodcare
The Woodcare category is open to special finishes on wooden surfaces utilising clear finishes – semi-transparent (no painted wood), both interior and exterior and not including architectural and timber floor finishes.
