APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR Competition Details
Competition details
Once entered the Apprentice of the Year competition consists of three stages.
STAGE ONE:
Theory assessment:
All entrants undertake a theory assessment based on Apprenticeship modules undertaken in the 1st - 3rd Year of the Painting & Decorating Apprenticeship. We encourage 2nd-4th year Apprentices to enter the competition. 1st year's may enter for experience and for preparation for the following years.
When: Saturday 27th August 2022

The top 10 successful entrants go through to the second stage.
STAGE TWO:
A practical skills competition conducted over 1 full day, where entrants are given a project to demonstrate their skills and ability. Full details of the project and competition requirements are distributed to the entrants 2 weeks prior to competition day.
When: Thursday 15th September 2022
Where: MPA Skills Maylands Campus

STAGE THREE:
The Apprentice of the Year Awards will this year be incorporated into painting and decorating industry's night of nights, The MP&DA Awards for Excellence.
The 10 finalists attend the presentation night for the announcement of the winner and subsequent places of the Apprentice of the Year competition.
When: Saturday 12th November 2022
Where: Novatel Perth Langley
Time: TBA
Invitations will be forwarded prior to the event. All finalists are given two tickets for the event, one for themselves and a partner, friend or family member.
