Mates In Construction [Mental Health]
MATES in Construction [WA] is an organisation formed to reduce the level of suicide and improve the mental health and wellbeing of construction workers.
Suicide levels within the construction industry are up to two times higher than those for other workers and workers have six times more likelihood of dying through suicide than through workplace accidents.
MATES in Construction provide a unique program of training, simple tools and support structure which allows workers to provide direct help for their mates and to keep them safe before seeking professional help.
The MATES in Construction program is widely regarded as the best practice solution for suicide and mental health issues on construction and building sites, and is provided at no cost to the construction companies or the workers themselves.
MATES in Construction WA is all about MATES helping MATES – An industry led approach to an industry problem.
