Master Painters & Decorators Australia [MP&DA] has recently appointed Amanda Dawes as its new Executive Officer.
Amanda has been the Association’s Business Manager for the past nine years and during that time she has been instrumental in implementing several strategic projects and initiatives.
These include progressing the issue of white set plaster, promoting the importance of registered painters and Master Painters in the building and construction industry, as well as lobbying government and industry stakeholders.
MP&DA President Ian Glen congratulated Amanda on her appointment and acknowledged her strong track record and performance at the organisation.
‘Amanda has been associated with the painting and decorating industry for more than 20 years and brings a diverse set of business skills that add tremendous value to the role of Executive Officer,’ said Mr Glen.
Ms Dawes said she was delighted at the opportunity to lead such a prestigious organisation.
‘I am thrilled to work with Ian and rest of the Executive Committee in this capacity as we strive towards continual improvement for painters and decorators and meet the future challenges in this ever-changing environment’, added Ms Dawes.
The Association thanks former CEO, Murray Thomas, for his contribution over the years and wishes him all the very best in his future endeavours.
